Conference history

The current conference on construction materials, structures and buildings followed the 1st and 2nd International scientific and technical conferences “Development of industrial chemistry in Ukraine” on November 1-3, 1995 and November 28-31, 1997 on the base of Kharkiv State Academy of Railway Transport. These conferences were held at the initiative of F.D. Ovcharenko, an academician of the National Academy of Sciences in Ukraine and A.N. In 2006, the conference revived in the format “The Problems of Reliability and Durability of Engineering Structures and Buildings on Railway Transport”. Five conferences during 2006-2015 were supported by the University administration, the State Administration of Railway Transport of Ukraine “Ukrzaliznytsia”, the Southern Railway, other institutions and enterprises, namely, Tines Group (Krakow, Poland), Capital Management (Kharkiv), MC-Bauchemie (Bottrop, Germany – Berezan, Ukraine) and others. The conferences were organized by the Department of Construction Materials, Structures and Buildings of the University. In 2013, the Department of Building Mechanics and Hydraulics joined in organization of the conference. Since 2013, the conference has been held by sections: “Construction materials, structures and buildings” and “Methods to calculate structures and buildings”.
